Gods Purposes For Creating You

His highest purposes for you have to do with Him. He created you for Himself.

Colossians 1:16: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

You are to Please Him, enjoy Him, love Him, trust Him, worship Him, serve Him, obey Him, etc. Those are the highest reasons that He created you. But His purpose for you down here on earth is to be a blessing to others. Until He takes you out of this world you are to be a blessing to others. In a sense, He has created us for Himself and sustains us for others.

We enjoy being blessed by others. That is often how God blesses us. When we are a blessing to others, that is often how God blesses them. He has promised to meet our needs, therefore we can try to meet the needs of others.

Philippines 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

So what are you doing for others? Are you hoarding your time, energy and resources for yourself? Or are you generous with God and others? Selfishness is sin and not blessed by God.

Psalms 106:15: And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

2 Corinthians 9:7b: . . . God loveth a cheerful giver.

Acts 20:35b: . . . remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Philippians 2:3: Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Titus 1:7a: For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, . . .

Galatians 6:2, 5: Bear ye one another*s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

Bearing the other person*s burden comes first in the passage. God carries me and more of my burdens than I do. My burden is other people and their burdens.

Deuteronomy 1:31b: . . . thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, . . .

Ephesians 4:28: Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

There are many people that I know, Christians included, that are selfish and their lives are a disaster. When I am selfish, it often leads to disaster. Christians and even unbelievers are often blessed when they are generous. Have you discovered the blessings of unselfishness?
